13 Apr 08 Mose Persico visits and reviews La Griglia D’Oro in Lasalle

So it’s more one of his plugs and visits more than any sort of critical review….

Is it just me or does Mose Persico really have a penchant for specifically reviewing Italian restaurants on his Sunday night entertainment, style and fashion show….

I must admit that I am somewhat hooked on watching him since it follows the 6pm CTV local news and is on at 6:30pm – in time to squeeze in before 60 minutes or, in tonights case, game 3 of the Habs vs. Boston. OK, so Orla is a tasty side dish on the show ;)

This week he interviewed Tony at La Griglia D’Oro… Mose was wearing a nice (and bright!) red shirt and had a nice run through the kitchen with Chef Tony and owner Joey.

The restaurant has really nice presentation of fish on the ubiquitous square white plates – everything to showcase the food.

La Griglia D’Oro … 7681 Newman Boulevard – I think I’ll be visiting perhaps…

Sidebar: The owners made a critical marketing error in selecting the name for their Montreal restaurant. There is a very well established Griglia D’Oro restaurant just outside Rome in Italy that just dominates the search engines for any sort of search for La Griglia D’Oro. Perhaps Tony will trade some tasty seafood in exchange for professional web SEO work from me ? ;)

Great food, nice atmosphere. I think they have opened the terrace too. From downtown it took me 9 minutes to get there, about the time I usually spend parking. A must visit, again and again!

Excellent service, warm sophisticated ambiance, and delicious food (which is also impecabbly presented and served). Sounds expensive, but is surprisingly decently priced. A must-try!
I’m definitely going to be a return guest.

WOW. THATS ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE. TO ALL THE MAJUMDAR FAMILY IS DON’T EVEN HESITATE TO TRY THIS PLACE OUT. WERE REGULARS AT THE RIB N REEF AND THIS PLACE BLEW ME OUT OF MY CHAIR. THEY HAVE A SMOKED SALT NEVER SEEN IN MY LIFE BEFORE ANYWHERE. THE FIRST TIME WAS FISH IT WAS GREAT AND THE SECOND TIME THE OWNER PROMISEDME THE MEAT WAS AMAZING AND HE WAS WRONG IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. CUISSON WAS TO PERFECTION AND THE TENDERNESS AND TASTE WAS EXQUISTE. FOR PEOPLE WHO LOVE STEAK,FISH, SEAFOOD AND A LAID BACK AMBIANCE WITH A SPECIAL PERSON, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. ASK FOR CARMINE

Errr Joey, in the original article above I had mentioned that Mose had interviewed the owner of La Griglia d’Oro – also named Joey.

    Try contacting the resto directly?
