09 May 08 The shortest pencil in the world? The things one can find in a seven year old’s pockets …
Well, Ashrita Furman may indeed be the Guinness Record holder for the world’s longest (and largest) pencil at 76 feet and 21,000 pounds…. but I think I found perhaps the shortest and smallest one!
Well, I suppose it’s a result of an indoctrination of not wasting resources…. (and an artistic bent too)…
Pencil found in pocket of a seven year old boy (ok, almost 8)…
Unfortunately there were no identifying markers on the writing instrument, so I can’t tag it with more specific make and model information. I suspect it will go for mid $xx,xxx on eBay in the next few months.

02 Feb 08 Sinner in Paradise Premiere on CTV : John Kastner on vacation at an Ashram, Hedonism, Atlantis and Club Med !
Now that I’m (hehe) older, a father, and don’t go out partying on Saturday nights, I usually watch CTV W5 – as you may have read in previous articles.
Tonight though, W5 wasn’t on CTV – instead there was the premiere of the a film by John Kastner; Sinner in Paradise – a tongue-in-cheek humoristic film that follows his adventures while on “vacation” at an Ashram located right next to the salacious and hedonistic Atlantis Resort Hotel… he winds up spending time at BOTH places and documents all of it on film.
2 hours of yoga before breakfast. Ringing in the New Year in total meditative silence – while the fireworks of the nearby resort Atlantis explode in the background, and a few stone throws away from topless beaches… no meat, no alcohol, no smoking…
Well, worth watching!
At my age I would say I am in between those two worlds and lifestyles for now ….
