15 Aug 08 Tristan (and black jerseys) win the St-Basile-le-Grand U8 soccer semi-final game! Bravo!

Tristan (with his black jersey teammates) won the St-Basile-le-Grand soccer U8 semi-finals!

Well it was perfect weather; sunny and about 22 Celsius… the field was pretty much dry and the two U8 teams were VERY closely matched with only one goal being scored by the black jerseys well into the 2nd half of the match. There was plenty of action at both ends of the field, both offensively and of course Tristan did a great job on defense.

Eh oui, la saison de soccer est commencée, malgré que Tristan joue encore pour la ligue d’hockey…

Zachary a donné son 100% en tentant de dépasser une fille adversaire à Saint-Basile-le-Grand … un jour il va courir après la fille au lieu de courir contre…

… mais bon, pour le moment, c’est mieux ainsi!

20 Jul 07 Toronto Police Taser Chilean Soccer Players under 20 after brawl with referees with CBC video

Well… Tristan and Zachary playing soccer tomorrow in the (rain-soaked) fields… this story out of Toronto where police had to taser at least one of the U-20 (under 20) FIFA Chilean players… sketchy stories from all sides, although the Chilean government has filed a formal complaint against Canada for overly aggressive police behaviour.

Here’s to hoping that European style soccer violence doesn’t invade Canada… although our global reputation has changed these last few years, hopefully it won’t as far as sports go.
