So, I’ve been getting the vaccine against influenza for the last few years and as I had previously written it was usually Vaxigrip. I’m supposed to get it (paid for 100% by the employer) on Monday morning, but the thing is I’ve been battling a nasty cold and/or flu with a throat infection accompanied by fever and aches for the last 6 days.
I wonder if you can get the flu vaccine if you’re already sick. I know from previous years that it makes you feel slightly flu-like for 2-3 days afterwards…. which is supposedly normal, since they are in essence injecting you with a variant of the influenza virus itself (what the &&@*&??) …
Anyhow, I suppose the nurse on Monday will be the one who decides… hopefully I’ll be better off and not so feverish by then. Having cold fingertips is a weird sensation.

Well, this morning marked the 3rd year that I am getting voluntarily injected with the influenza virus … ok that’s an urban legend. The reality is that once again I got injected with the flu vaccine VaxiGrip. Only difference is that this time I had no upfront fees to pay. It was all covered by the employer, whereas as I mention in my first blog post (well, in my own name heheh) back in November 2004 about VaxiGrip… it cost $20 at the time.

OK, so I know I have been putting off the blog for way too long, but here goes.
It’s Friday evening, and I’m watching CSI NY with Gary Sinise. I love the CSI series, especially the original since I also love Las Vegas.
Anyhow, this evening’s episode involves a multiple murder in a restaurant, which appears to be an inside job. The people were killed by a perp with a 5 round revolver, who had to reload to kill the 6 victims. Hmmm. Also on this episode, they find a severed leg in a dumpster - the twist? The leg appears to have been surgically amputated….
Now, I’m suffering. Why? Well, last Monday, I payed $20 (insurance covered) to have Vaxigrip injected into my arm. This is a flu vaccine that will supposedly protect me from influenza this winter. Oh really? I sure as heck hope so, because I feel like crap today - Friday. The leaflet did state that the vaccine may cause flu-like symptoms. I just didn’t expect to feel like I was gonna pay to get a 5-7 day flu.
Alas… back to CSI NY.
Tomorrow, it’s off to the parents country place to help them get stuff winterized and ready…
Oh, and I miss my boys, Zachary & Tristan…
